If true, how conniving. This university clearly has too much power over the City of Columbia.

Again, what were the density limits set by the city? Did this project exceed them? Has everyone else in the area (including USC) abided by these limits?

I don't see the problem.

Nope. Just don't take hearsay as fact. According to your own post, the density issue wasn't the only problem. But big ol' USC is the devil! Anyone living in Richland and Lexington counties should be kissing USC's butt. One of THE largest contributors to the local economy.

I just said what the issue was. Density was not an issue BOZA approved the zoning change. The issue started with some of the looks such as loading gate and Windows. Then USC came in with a fake shadow study and wanted to stop the project so they could propose they're own campus village down the road.

He ran unopposed and his restaurant was right there on Rosewood/Garners Ferry where everything was washed out.

I think Columbia's fate is to become a college town and grow at a slow to moderate pace. I guess the only positive would be is that the town has a positive net population growth.

A college town is Clemson, Chapel Hill, Athens, Charlottesville, etc. Columbia is too big to be a college town. And there's nothing wrong with healthy, moderate growth. Stay in Charlotte if you want a city growing like gangbusters; nobody's making you leave.
