There was a subsidize apartment complex proposed for the wooded area along Patterson as well. It was opposed by some of the residents nearby.. not sure if it was ever approved.....
Yeah, Maurice’s gets old really quick. But there’s always urban cookhouse, though not quite bbq. But same concept in essence I suppose.
I brought a friend down to eat the BBQ at Pot Smokers. .He order the collards and thought seriously about asking them to give him a milk jug full of "pot liquor" which is the soupy water strained from the collards.. He was going to take it back to MD and drink it warm like coffee in the mornings...they were that good... Since we are on a bbq kick.. I cant leave out three little pigs up on Alpine.. best bbq in part because its a buffet...MMMMMMM

I know the owner of Pot Smoker in Columbia well, I’ll pass along the kind words. Having his smoker right up front and filling the area with the smell of smoked meat doesn’t hurt business a bit. You would be amazed at the number of BBQ spots that use liquid smoke on their meat instead of a smoker.
I wonder how much business they get from people sitting on the outside deck at the Flying Saucer smelling that smoke while enjoying a brew?

Please tell him to keep it up....the food, atmosphere and friendly staff are wonderful... I know the restaurant business is very competitive.. but I hope they are doing well and can become a fixture there....
