I am thinking about moving from the Baltimore, MD area to Columbia, SC within a year or two. I am curious about the racial demographics for that area...I am part of an interracial married couple (My husband is white and I am black) I was wondering if Columbia is a mixed or racially segregated area?

I made this map my sophomore year in college (it sort of sucks); you can see that at least downtown is pretty segregated. But, I think you will see this type of thing in almost any city in the south.

Interesting map. However, I don't think you'll really get grief for being an interracial couple in Columbia.

I remember having trouble finding something to eat in Columbia at noon on a Sunday. Most of the non-fast food places were closed for church. A lot of the shops were also closed all day on Sunday.
