The resurfacing of I-77 from exits 13 to the cayce exit (4?) has been ongoing for the last almost 8 months. As someone who commutes down this road daily, I can see the progress has been very slow.
I don't understand why they took off the top layer 6 months before even beginning the resurfacing process. The grooved pavement left on the highway is truly terrible.
Just wondering what the hold up is, recently I've noticed that a majority of the work is done at night. There has been sufficient progress over the last month.
I think it's supposed to take 2 years so they seem to be doing good. They haven't even started widening by i77/i20 intersection, supposed to be all the way to decker I believe

That's the wrong project he's talking about the emergency resurfacing of exit 13 to the i77/i26 interchange. It's not supposed to be complete til the end of the year because it is emergency resurfacing and was not planned in the budget.
