Default Photos of new developments

I went on a photo shoot last week to get photos of some of the new developments in town. These are just from in-town developments as I rarely venture out to suburbia.

Adesso Condominiums, which will be opening soon at the corner of Main and Blossom:

This is the site of the new USC Honors College dorm with Adesso in the background:

This is the Horizon I research building, which is at the same intersection as Adesso and the Honors College dorm:

Land clearing for Assembly Station apartments. The rendering is below the photo:

The Battery at Arsenal Hill:

The Biomedical Research Building under construction at USC and its adjoining parking garage:

Canal Place (and the views of the canal, the Three Rivers Greenway/Riverfront Park and the river from there):

Canalside:

Center Vista Site:

The new City Bus Depot:

The New Five Points Fountain:

The fountain with the Five Points South site behind it, followed by a FPS rendering:

The Olympia Mill renovation into loft apartments is nearly completed:

Olympia Community Center renovation:

Rosewood Hills low to moderate income housing, which replaced Hendley Homes public housing. You can see the proximity to Williams-Brice Stadium:

Senate Club Renovation; I think these are the ones "Corruption" asked about in another thread:

SC Auto Dealers Assn:

The Shoppes at Lady Street and the Carolina Ale House:

Springhill Suites site clearing in the Vista:

Staybridge Suites construction, also in the Vista:

New USC Band and Dance Hall construction:

New USC Baseball Stadium construction:

900 Pulaski Town homes construction in the Vista:

New City Parking Garage and retail in the Vista:

That's it for now.

It certainly looks like there is a lot of construction in Columbia. It has all but stopped in Houston - except for the interstate work. It's nice to know that the city is still building.

Thank you for posting all of these photos.

The new City Bus Depot:

Where is this maintenance facility located?
I remember that there was some discussion to build it in Eau Claire on Sunset, but there was a considerable amount of opposition.

When the City built the transfer station downtown Sumter & Laurel St(?) just over from City Hall.. there was some conversation on co-locating with Greyhound/SES. Needless to say it did not happen for a number of reasons. The City still has the opportunity to consider co-locating the Greyhound and Amtrak as many other cities have done. The site would have to be over in the Vista where Amtrak service is available and the Greyhound/SES site is prime to be redeveloped as part of the 5pts expansion. A similar effort is underway in Sumter where they are seeking to co-locate Greyhound/SES, the local city bus transfer, and the adm. offices for their transit authority at a site in downtown Sumter.

The facility is located on Lucius Road just off Sunset Drive, between the Earlewood Park neighborhood and the canal.

The pics are very good. It seems as though people live really close in their neighborhoods. Is that the way it is all over town? Thank you

Alot of the newer developments have very small lots like this. There are some more pricey developments that are new and still larger. If you buy a house that was built in the mid to late 90's or earlier then it will likely be in a neighborhood with larger lots. For whatever reason, in the <250k price range Newer and Large Lot is almost mutually exclusive.
