Default Moving to Columbia , SC

We are relocating from Long Island to Columbia. I wanted some information on schools in Lex/Rich D 5. I am looking for an Elementary School in that area. Saw some good reviews on the internet for Nursery Road Elementary School & Seven Oaks Elementary School. Any inputs anyone ?

Any help will be appreciated. Will look for some apartments in these school districts if they are as good as the school report says. Thanks and Happy Holidays!

Apartments?! This is the south, where people own property. Is this a temporary move? If not, please don't think in terms of renting. It's a waste of money. I'm from Brooklyn and I rented in Columbia for a year. People at my job browbeat me into buying a home--they were mortified that I would give my money away when I could own property for slightly more. A decent sized home in Lexington County can be purchased for about $800-$1,200 a month. Go to realtor.com and see for yourself. Good luck.

It might be a temporary move for about 6 months or so...
You are right since the homes are so good we should be able to afford one once we know for sure that Columbia is where we want to be..Thanks!

Anything in Lexington county should be fine. I think Midway elementary, Lake Murray elementary and Lexington elementary are the highest ranking in the county.

There are tons of apartments everywhere. Many offer a 3 or 6 month lease. We just moved here from NY and had to rent for a few months until we found a home.
