Wherabouts in the UK are you from? Sounds like a farm, from the sheep dipping! I'm from Glos.

Did you know that Monday the 26th is a bank holiday here? The shops won't be shut, big shopping day, but most regular businesses will be closed. It's the official start of the summer season.

We're from Sussex, on the South Coast.

It's a bank holiday here and luckily half-term for the kids too which gives us the opportunity to check the schools out with our daughter.

Keep in mind the traffic. From conversing with my co-workers that live in Lexington, for the most part, if looking in the Lexington area, north of I-20 is a good choice.

Welcome to SC. I think you will find that this is a great area to live. Did you ever decide where you are going to stay here?

Yea! The more the merrier. There is an "English Shop" on Whaley Street in the Olympia neighborhood where you can find some touches of home if need be.

The only part of England I liked were around the southern coast area and Cornwall, UK cities forget it, I thought they had all the bad traits of american cities except for the skyscrapers.

You will probably be in for quite a culture shock as there has been quite a dumbing down of education in the USA unless you attend a good private school, culture wise think of Blackpool on a friday night.
