Ela's closed? I'm sorry to hear that. I just checked and their website is still up. I wonder if they may have simply moved? They were in a terrible location. I bet if she opened a Polish Restaurant in Five Points or The Vista she would be packed.

Here's the scoop. I called the number on their website. This is a residential number, but I was able to speak with the spouse. He advised that Ela's Kuchnia is still around, but they do not have a store front as before. They can and will handle catering services, just call them and let them know what you need and they can make it happen. Unfortunately Ela, became very ill, hence the move to close the store itself. The spouse stated it's ok to post this so I figured I'd spread the word. They are and will continue to maintain the website.

Ela's Kuchnia - 803.834.5473

BTW: I have no affiliation with this business.

That's too bad, but at least the catering is still available.

Default Welcome to COLA

Just wanted to welcome you. The paternal side of my family is Polish and had resided in the Southside of Chicago.

Yes, my mom is Polish and most of my family lives in Poland. I personally was born and raised here in Columbia. I will be in Warsaw on Saturday.
