Columbia/charlotte
Ok I've Noticed This First Hand And I Have Stats From The Weather Channel. The Average Highs In Charlotte Only Get To 90 When In Columbia It Goes Up To 95 And The Low Goes Down To 31 In January And Only 37 In Columbia. Sometimes The Difference In Temps Is As Much As 30 Degrees And These Two Cities Are Only 90 Miles Apart. Columbia Is Much More Humid. Charlotte Gets More Snow Fall.

It is extremely rare that temperatures are more than a few degrees apart. The averages you're quoting are from Charlotte's airport compared with Columbia's downtown weather station. There is even less of a difference when comparing the 2 airports. Except when a front is moving through and has only gone through one of the 2 cities will you see a 30 degree temperature difference - that is absurd. As far as humidity, there is little difference, on average, between the 2 cities; I don't know where you got that data from.

i got my DATA FROM THE SOURCE ITSELF. THE WEATHER CHANNEL GO AND LOOK AT THEIR AVERAGES. THEY EVEN HAVE RECORDS THAT DATE BACK TO THE 1870'S YOU MAY HAVE YOUR OPINION, BUT I STATED THE FACTS. MOST OF THE TIME COLA IS ATLEAST 2 IF NOT AS MUCH AS 7 DEGREEES WARMER THAN CHARLOTTE AND THE HUMIDIY IS HIGHER. THE ALL TIME RECORD LOW FOR CHARLOTTE WAS -5 WHILE IT WAS ONLY 1 IN COLA.

Like I said; you compared data from Charlotte's airport versus Columbia's downtown weather station. If you compare the data from the 2 airports (ie. not downtown) then the temperature differences are not as great. Charlotte does not have a downtown NWS station to offer that comparison. I assure you I have a great deal of expertise when it comes to weather and geography. These are facts, not opinion. Compare the data from the 2 airports and you're comparing apples and apples instead of apples and oranges.
Here they are:

are you blind? anyone with two eyes can see the temperature differences there? even in your charts the record lows are nearly 5 degrees colder in charlotte than columbia and the average temps coincide with that. i dont know about you but 5 degrees over a year in high and low temps feels significantly different especially when you account humidity. you rarely see people moving to cola because it has four seasons, which it doesn't however thats all you hear for charlotte.

Blind? Certainly not. I can plainly see the following high temperature differences between the 2 cities: January-4 degrees, February-4 degrees, March-3 degrees, April-3 degrees, May-3 degrees, June-2 degrees, July-2 degrees, August-2 degrees, September-3 degrees, October-3 degrees, November-4 degrees and December-4 degrees. This is an average difference of 3.08 degrees - hardly earth-shattering. The average differences in low temperatures is as follows: January-2 degrees, February-2 degrees, March-2 degrees, April-2 degrees, May-2 degrees, June-2 degrees, July-1 degree, August-2 degrees, September-2 degrees, October-1 degree, November-1 degree and December-1 degree. This is an average difference of 1.67 degrees - even less of a difference than the average highs. These differences are typical for a 90 mile difference in latitude. As far as four seasons, of course Columbia has 4 seasons. Any statement to the contrary is absurd.

Since there is also a debate about humidity, I found a National Weather Service chart with the average humidity at various locations. Over a year's time, Columbia's average morning humidity is 86%, while Charlotte's is 82%. In the afternoon, the figures are reversed with Charlotte at 53% and Columbia at 51%. In July, the hottest month, Columbia's averages are 88% and 53% while Charlotte's are 86% and 56%. Columbia is a little more humid in the morning and Charlotte is a little more humid in the afternoon.
