Honestly, your post seems a bit racist to me but perhaps I'm interpreting it wrong. To turn the table how would posters like it if someone asked "What cities are best for white people?"

I don't necessarily think that is comparing apples and apples, though. The truth of the matter is that white men are still the primary power holders, wealth holders and power brokers in this country, so there are few places where they lack real power. Conversely, there are few places where women, African-Americans, Hispanics, gay men and lesbians or Asians are the primary power holders, wealth holders or power brokers. In an ideal world it shouldn't matter, but in reality it still does matter.

I agree with that assessment but we all know what people would assume about a person that question.
I believe the better way for the original question to be posed is "Are there any areas where minorities that aren't originally from the area may run into acceptance issues?" That way it simply excludes some areas as well as bringing relocation into the picture.
To which I'd answer possibly some of the smaller towns in rural SC may not be as easy to make friends initially. In my line of work I simply don't discuss race or orientation and treat everyone the same.

Yes brandon you are interpreting the post wrong. if a gay man wanted to know what city is best for gays would that make him prejudice??? no and it is done quite often not only in the south carolina forum but all over the us and world and the same thing applies to minorities such as african americans. and i agree waccamaw if your a part of the majority it is harder for you to feel what it is like to be a minority and not always be accepted everywhere. Minorities have a long history in this country of trying to ascertain social justice, however we have fallen short and racism and homophobia are alive everywhere however some areas tend to be less prone to them than others and if avoiding them means less harassment and or a better quality of life then why not try to reside there?

The gist of everyone of your posts, that most white people are racist, is so tired. You're a very angry person who should seek immediate help in dealing with your perpetual animosity towards all other races.

Lazy T - I agree with your coment...in almost every post "Innocence123" is venting her anger...and attempting to get a negative response from others... ...

So you, who has never lived here, are saying that white people in the south are racist and homophobic? I hate to burst your bubble but I don't believe thats true. Of course there are exceptions but for the most part people are very accepting in today's age. Segregation is gone and I've never seen anyone openly harassed over race or sexual preference. I'm not saying it doesn't or can't happen but I've lived in lots of places in SC and never witnessed it.

I think this thread has run its course; we don't need it to become a free for all. I was hoping it could be a mature debate, but I guess not.
