Default Help me move to Columbia

Dears,

We (my wife, baby and I) will move to Columbia within few months.

I will receive training in Palmetto Richland hospital for about 2 years.
I am looking to rent a 2 bedroom apartment in a nice, safe neighborhood where I can feel safe leaving my family.
I have been to Columbia once for one night for my interview, so I know nothing about the city.

can somebody help me out with some apartment complexes names and where should I avoid looking.

I am looking for something up to $800-900 a month for 2 bedrooms, preferably with pool.

I really appreciate any help.

Thank you

You can easily find something in a nice, neighborhood near downtown in the $800 - $900 range. Wales Garden, Shandon and Forest Acres are nice. There are some nice places in Cayce and West Cola too. As a parent, I would NOT live in some of the neighborhoods closer to Palmetto Health Richland such as Cottontown, Eau Claire, and Earlewood or Rosewood which is farther away. They're nice places too but they're a little too "up and coming" for a guy with children. Good luck to you.

There are a number of apartment complexes around the SC-277/Parklane Rd interchange, which would be an easy drive to the hospital. I'm sure they all have pools. I can't think of their names right now. Vista Commons in the Vista area of downtown is a complex, also, and I'm sure they have a pool. You may be able to get a 2 bedroom apartment with a pool there.

I always like to give props to Granby Oaks over on State Street in West Columbia. Quiet, well run complex.
