Default Columbia richland 2 middle schools -help

Hi,
I am being faced with only a few weeks to make the decision of whether to move my family to Columbia for an excellent job. My major sticking point is how my very free spritited, performing arts loving 12 year old will do down there. We will probably settle in the Richland 2 area, as the two performing arts high school programs would be great for her. In the meantime, I hear there is a great deal of difference between middle schools. She is a serious learner who does well in an academic and well behaved environment. Any advice on which Richland 2 middle schools would be a good match would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
Pinkhouse

My wife teaches at Dent MS, they have magnet programs for the Arts, however, she says you have to apply for them, so not sure your daughter would be able to get in at this point, but you may want to check w/Richland 2 S.D. office to be sure. In general, she said Blythewood & Longleaf are probably the 2 best middle schools overall. Hope that helps point you in the right direction!

Hello my home is SC but have been in Atlanta for 8 years and will be looking to move back to Columbia summer 09'. I will have a rising 10th grader and a rising 7th grader, both are very smart kids. I would be great areas to live and great schools. I also teach 1st grade. If there is any advice, I would greatly appreciate it.
