Default relo from northeast

It's a big adjustment...
What is bringing you here?
Surprisingly enough I am not finding the southerners to be as warm and friendly as I had assumed they would be.
Also the conservatism is way over the top...something I am not accustomed to...as well as having your CEO pray before a holiday dinner is strange for me...

I rest my case...close-minded and intolerant, hateful southerners...that's all I have met so far.

it's all about "us" and "them" and I am still very much a "them".

No, I am not crazy about this area but I am hoping it will get better over time....we'll see.
Hoping to meet friendly transplanted northerners.
I am from Maine.

Hey there new2SC26 - I am sorry your move has not gone as smoothly as you would have hoped for...I do hope it gets better for you.

The other thing I also wanted to mention...if your statement above is in regard to what Quark has posted.....please do not be so quick to assume that this person is from the south. In fact I clearly remember this person being from the east coast (under another name...hmmmm...have you been banned from this board before Quark?)

I moved to Greenville in 94 from NJ and have had a wonderful experience. Everyone I have met has been great.

new2SC26, out of curiosity, where in Columbia did you move?

I ask because downtown Columbia is very different from West Columbia, which is very different from Lexington, which is very different from Northeast Columbia, and so forth. For example, you could not pay me enough money to live in Chapin, Lexington, Irmo, etc. Just my personal opinion.

And when you say 'hateful and intolerant', can you give any specifics, or maybe examples? I'm also curious to know what you mean; I have a very vague idea of what you mean, but I don't completely understand.
