Not to be a perfectionist, but I grew up in Winnsboro, and it's the 321 bypass. You get back on HWY 34 from it.

I'm not sure. Everything used to close at noon on Wednesday, and I never really got the point of that either. The major chain stores such as Wal-Mart, Grocery stores, gas stations, all used to remain open, but all the regular mom and pops would close.

Without question, assuming you have not already moved. A great location based on what you typed here would be around the I-26 Peak Exit of Irmo. This is right near the border of Chapin as well. The Schools up in this area are the Lexington/Richland SD#5. High Schools in that district are Irmo, Dutch Fork and Chapin. At the peak Exit that will put you close enough to the Jenkinsville power plant and at the same time almost an equal distance to the fantastic shopping and dining near the Columbiana Mall in the other direction. Meaning, at this exit you will be pretty much right in the middle as far as travel approx 12 miles to the mall and then 12 miles to the powerplant (in the other direction) There are many nice homes in your price range. In addition, you will be only a few miles to some fantastic Lake Murray Access.

I've only heard it a couple times since I've been here, almost everyone just says Columbia.

When writing or typing I do. Sometimes I even call it Cola when speaking. Of course I'm from here.

Ok, good. It's kind of silly.
