Default Apt. Hunting in Columbia

I will be coming to Columbia soon for a 13 week travel nurse assignment at Palmetto Richland. I am looking for a nice to very nice apt complex with easy access and not far from the hospital in a nice area. How far out will I have to go? Rent $ is not an issue. Thanks for any information.

Forest Drive area would be good for you. Close to the hospital and downtown, in a nice area. i don't know much about apts sorry. i did see this though, www.thebiltmoreapartments.com, (which is in that general area), and would be very convenient for you. But - I don't know anything about it!!
sorry.

I live right down the street from those apartments, and some friends of mine lived there when they first moved to Columbia. They said they're all right, and they are in a nice part of town and not too far from the hospital. Most of the people who live there are retirees.

You might want to consider looking for a house to rent. There are a lot of nice little in-town rental houses, and you'd have a wider variety of neighborhoods to choose from than if you went with an apt.

Do you know of any apt I could rent in the Irmo/Lexington area from Jan through March or April?

There are a few that offer short term leases but I can't remember which ones they are. When I looked once before I googled apartments in irmo and called the list from start to finish. There were like 2 of 30 that offered short term leases.

momof1-

You might want to try Broad River Terrace, off of Broad River Rd. It wouldn't be a bad drive to Palmetto Richland from there. Its a new, very nice place. Obviously if you look in the northeast or Irmo areas, you will find more places. Either of those areas are at least 8-10 miles away. There are lots of places downtown, which is very close to Palmetto Richland... but the closer to USC you get, the more college students you will have to deal with. That may or not be an issue for you.
