I usually learn about the car shows at the last minute.
The latest one was in South Congaree. My friend called me up and said, hey come and meet me at the car show. It was sponsered by the police department.
It was a good show.

Last really good one I went to was at Smiley's Flea Market, but that was at least a decade ago. I kinda got out of the car scene, though you wouldn't know it from the stack of car mags I get each month.

^^ one may not always own a nice ride; but once a car guy, always a car guy.... 20+ years ago I was running a v8 Pinto on the street; now a couple decades later i play in my wife's modded Scion TC. In between, all sorts of boring sedans, vans, company cars, etc....
but it's always there; the minute you plant your foot to the floor and something actually happens, that "feeling" comes right back.

I'm thinking 2009 Yaris S hatchback as my next purchase. Specs are almost dead on to my late, lamented, living in Costa Rica if it still exists, '89 Civic Si. I'm thinking Blazing Blue.

The only cruise I'm aware of, is in the parking lot in front of Big Lots, on Two Notch (US-1), south of the city. It's close to the I-26 interchange with US-1.
Fat Boy's and Wendy's are your landmarks. The parking lot sits between both.
It's the 2nd Sat. of every month. A variety of iron shows up. Rat rods, customs, muscle cars, classics, hot rods, street rods, "imports", etc. A good mix.
Not much od a muscle car/classic scene, here. I drive my '78 New Yorker to the cruise, sometimes. Great people, definitely friendly atmosphere.

I have a deep red fedora that would look great in your '78 New Yorker.

i like the idea of being able to view/cruise with cars from any era. It takes a lot of work, time, and $$ to build a ride; regardless if it starts as a 66 Chevelle SS or a 98 Honda hatch. Heck, some of these new 4-poppers stock can run with the big boys from the old days ( and drink less fuel as well ). Nice to see there are some options to hang out down there. thx for all the feedback.
And nothing wrong with rolling up in an old NY'er ( heck one of my winter cars in the day was a big old Polara )..... though i guess if you'd add in Matt's fedora, hope the right tunes are playing on the 8-track...
Note to any youngsters on this forum: 8-tracks were invented about the same time as fire and the wheel... ask any of us fogies about "true hi fi"....

When I was 17 I lived in Ridgeway and I had a jukebox that played 8-tracks. It was a great conversation piece.
