what?
You got that right! Unbelievbably diverse. I was talking to a member one time and got really fearful that God may send down a lightning bolt and strike us at any minute after some of what I heard! They apparently have a completely different edited Bible than I have! That is all I have to say about them!

Thanks so much for your input. When I say diverse I mean that a place of worship that is open to all people of different races, cultures and nationalities not only puerto ricans. I just want a place that has the same doctrine and beliefs I have (non dem). My church in MD was very diverse! Focused on world missions and outreach to the community people in the area. Those folks who were really in need (no matter their race). I know that a church won't turn away anyone...but I want myself and my family to feel comfortable and hear God's word and feel his presence. We have been to a few churches in the area and my biggest problem is the size of the church. I don't want to attend a "mega church" (sorry if this offends anyone). How do you have a relationship with the pastor and fellow church members? I believe church is for fellowship and that is important part of your walk with God. Do I make any sense at all?

We have a mixed race, not sure of any Puerto Ricans, but, hey, that dont matter because we are there to worship God, not each other. You would be warmly welcomed. We did have a wonderful member from Jamaca, but he transferred to Fla after years with us, a real loss to us! He was is a great Christian. You should consider not especially looking for a mixed church as a priority, but look for what it teaches, ie, follows the Word. Racial quotas forced are what Govco does. God does not force them, anyone is free to go where they want. That is a great thing, freedom to worship. Let us hope that this never changes! Now if a minister or elder started a program to go out and select only certain people for their race, they would have to pass prospects doing this. This is in conflict with Gods word, He is no respector of persons, all are equal and if man gets selective on who he wants in church in either direction, man is wrong! An open door and welcome arms for all is right!
Come visit, I am sure you would like it. You will be warmly welcomed. We dont claim to be perfect, but strive for this!

If you're still looking, you can check out www.crossmarkonline.com. They meet at the YMCA and it is totally awesome. I'm from Belize and my husband is American and we looked for a year before finding Crossmark and absolutely love it. It's an intimate, caring family church...for us it's home:-)

We have been invited to several churches from our new SC friends but they are usually all one race. I am puerto rican and I know that I wont find an all puerto rican church, nor do I want to. I just want to find a church in the thirty mile radius of Lexington that has a mix of people. Any suggestions?

We attend a non-denominational church called The Harvest. It is on 378 in Lexington and has about 700 members. There are 3 Sunday morning services, wonderful music, and a very caring pastor. It is multi-racial and the people are friendly.
