Question Red Bank

We moved to the Red Bank-Lexington Area about a year ago from Maryland. We love it here. My issue or question is....when ever we say we live in Red Bank, folks look at us like we are crazy and say "you live in Red Bank!??!?!"

Are we missing something?

Before Red Bank started growing it was not known as the most desirable area to live. It used to be way out in the country.

Not that long ago, there was a 'welcome to Red Bank' sign painted on the side of an abandoned mobile home.

Ok the welcome to red bank sign on a mobile home is very funny! Not to offend those who live in mobile homes.

My Uncle, Aunt and cousins live out there on Muddy Springs Road. They never complained about any crime and I still think it is one of the most wonderful places. For me, "Country setting" doesn't mean undesirable but for some I guess it would. I haven't noticed abandoned homes, cars on blocks, etc... in their area but maybe I missed seeing those things?? I think it is beautiful, rustic, natural and unspoiled over there. I hope that you guys will be as happy and content as my family members have been out there.
