Default Any Belizeans in the Cola area?

I've lived here for two years and have only met 4 Belizeans. It would be nice to have contact with other Belizeans to get together and chat ocassionally with:-)

Compared to FL where we lived 7 years before moving here...let's just say that FL pales in comparison. People are sooo much nicer here in SC than FL. Now compared to Belize, it's a totally different lifestyle. Things are much more laid back and stress free. Some things are more expensive in Belize...gas, groceries, etc, but you can always go across the border to Mexico and obtain them for much less. Housing is cheaper but then again jobs pay less. I lived in the northern part which in my opinion is way cleaner and safer than the central parts. The western parts are breath-taking with the mountain views and the south is has the beautiful waterfront views. Basically stay away from the city and go for the smaller towns where people are friendly and you'll feel more like one of the locals. Most small-town people happily embrace foreigners:-) Believe me if my husband could find a job as a foreigner in Belize and make enough to sustain us, we'd move there in a heartbeat. He loves my country and my people:-)

That's because nobody is actually from FL. They all moved there from somewhere else (That's a joke, I work with a lot of people relocating from somewhere else.)

Check out some of the Latin American Markets in the Decker Blvd area and you will be able to pick up the local Hispanic newspaper. I'm sure you'll be able to connect that way.
