Don't know of one in Columbia. I have been to the one in Charlotte, though, and it's worth the ride for a special occasion, especially if you run by Trader Joe's while you're up there to stock up on goodies.
If anyone knows differently, I hope they let us know. I'm in.

If you can't find one in Columbia, there is one just a short drive up the road. Rio Grille in the West End of Greenville is a Brazillian style steakhouse. Great place. Check it out.

A business partner of a company I worked for years ago did a Brazilian steak cookout for us once. I love the way the meet was prepared, but some of the more, ummmmm, delicate people in the company couldn't get past the finger feeding.

nothing like a good Brazilian steakhouse to fill the belly... glad to hear there is one a reasonable distance from Columbia; most of the ones i've hit so far ( usually chains ) are in the larger markets such as Vegas, Orlando, Chicago, etc.... ( a 'benefit' of travel/trade shows---one gets to try different places to eat that are not near their home front )

I'm trying to think of the restaurant I was in that had a partial Brazilian menu, but I can't recall which one it was at the moment.

What is a Brazilian steakhouse? I tried looking it up but couldn't find anything that explains what makes it different.

I wont speak for the one in SC, but I have found the service is excellent in those places. One chain gives you a card ( green/red ), flip it top green and they'll keep stopping by with the different cuts of meat; flip it to red and they let you go until you ask for more. The spices they use add an extra kick without being over-powering. And they will usually bring to you the meat cooked to the way you like ( ie medium, etc ).
I have not been at one that let me down at all; the amount of food one can eat ( and the cost ) usually can make these places more of a "special treat", but if you like meat then it's worth a try.

Yeah, Rio does the same color coded signal set-up at their tables. Really a cool place....excellent food and a great bar area. I've been to Brazillian steakhouses several other cities and must say, Rio hangs with the best.
