Clinton Job/Columbia Job
I may potentially have a job offer at BC/BS of SC and my dh works in Clinton. I need info on good neighborhoods for a family with 3yo and 7yo. Schools are important and we like older homes. Obviously we'd like to keep dh commute as low as possible but mine convenient enough to get to the kids if I need to. We're transplants (3months ago) and know nothing about SC. Thanks for any help you can give!

sounds like Chapin is calling your name, but that would depend on where the BCBS office is that you are working. If it is the one on the other side of Columbia you might want to look into Irmo.

Almost has to be Chapin or Irmo. What price range?

The only concern I would have is for the Chapin to Columbia commute in the morning and reverse in the evening. A job I had while living in downtown Columbia was actually outside Columbia, so I was always going against traffic and my commute was really quite nice...either way, it seems that someone is going to have the commute to deal with.

Sorry for my slow response, I've been out of town! The office I'd be in would be at 4101 Percival Rd, Columbia, SC. Our range is high 100s low 200s. I'll check out Irmo and Chapin. I would love the idea of going against the traffic. I did that up north with my commute and loved it.

Percival Road is on the far side of Columbia from Clinton. If you lived in Irmo your commute would probably be similar - time-wise - for both of you.
