Default West Columbia area?

How would the Saluda Terrace/Westover Acres/Springdale area be for a single woman to live? How expensive is the area? Is it "old town" or going "upscale" and how bad is the commute to downtown? Any recreation in the immediate area?

Thanks!

Mel

That's a large are you're covering there. Saluda Terrace is the closest to downtown though none would be a long commute. I'm not familiar with Westover Acres, but the others are lower middle to middle class neighborhoods with a decent reputation. The Botanical Gardens, the Zoo and the Three Rivers Greenway are close to Saluda Gardens as are all of the activities in the downtown area including the Vista and Five Points.

Thanks. Hard to get an idea of area from Yahoo maps. If the neighborhoods are older and with trees, sounds like a "must check out" as I like the idea of being in a walkable neighborhood.

Hopefully, it'd be in my budget.

Hi there. I am brand new to this forum but thought I'd drop in to help.

I actually live in Westover Acres and love it. Location is convenient to everything; interstates, downtown, shopping, dining, entertainment, etc. Westover is very close to Saluda Terrace, and you are correct. Lots of trees, established neighborhood. Are you planning to buy or rent? I'll be glad to help you find something either way. Just send me a message......

Thanks. If I can get there, I'd definitely start out renting, but would want to buy eventually.
