Best Japanese in Sumter?
My mother is a huge fan of Japanese food and she is coming down for a visit in May. I would like to get some opinions on which is the best in Sumter? I have been to Kobe a few times but that's it and I heard from several people that Kobe's health dept. scores haven't been too good. Is there any truth to that? How about Osaka and Hibachi Grill? Hibachi grill seems more like a take out place? And I've never been to Osaka. So, I would really appreciate any opinions here.

I had no idea Sumter has real Japanese. That would be fantastic! Out of curiosity though, I would like your opinions on the Japanese steak house restaurants as well.

There is a Thai place on Bultman Dr that is excellent. Thai House and Sushi Bar. The only Sushi in town that I will eat.

Yeah, that place isn't bad. But no, there isn't any really good Japanese in Sumter. Osaka and Hibachi grill are fine, but Hibachi's a takeout joint and Osaka is not much more than that, either. And the food's okay... but just okay. Then again, there aren't too many places, even in Columbia, Greenville, et. al., that have really good Japanese. |
