+1. And believe it or not, but their oven-fired pizza is something my wife and I still talk about... it was outstanding!

i love their oven-fired pizza. they will also allow you to add any of the vegetables from their salad bar onto your pizza. last summer i ate so much of their wheat crusted pizza; i'm amazed that i did not gain weight.

Whole Foods Market is a close partner and key delivery location for the Upstate SC Locally Grown Market, offering a wide variety of products grown naturally in the Upstate.

Yes. And tomorrow, May 5, Whole Foods starts the local market for the season. A special section within the store as well as booths in front. Website:

I'm with the others who would choose Trader Joe's over a Whole Foods. When I lived in CA, I lived a 5 min. walk from TJ's. I sure do miss it!

I would love to see both WF and Trader's here in Columbia. There are a lot of things that I wish they would bring to Columbia but I don't know why we get skipped over for things.

Waccamatt, I have been to those places, and they are nice. However, those are all close together, and all basically in or around the downtown. We need a health food store (or a few of them) in the NE. Basically all of the major groceries stores are in the NE. What is missing is a health food store, or two. Whole Foods and Trader Joe would be perfect in that location. Plus, it just gives more variety and choices.

Of those three, it appears that only Rosewood Market & Deli would be a direct competitor with Whole Foods Market. I noticed on their website that they sell raw milk from a couple of Upstate farms as well. Very glad to see that! I wonder how their prices compare with Greenville's Whole Foods though? Guess I'll have to make a special trip down there to check it out sometime.
I can understand the desire for something similar in the busy suburbs though, since that is where many people live.

Maybe you could talk to the owners of Rosewood Market and see if they would consider opening a second location in Northeast. It couldn't hurt.
