Does anyone know what is up with Columbia city government employment? Should I even bother trying to get a job as a water meter reader? I have experience with meter reading but my understanding is they're on a hiring freeze.

It doesn't hurt to check, but I know there have been freezes in raises. I don't know if there have been freezes in hiring.
