Wow Mojo....we know a bunch of people moving to Shaw AFB around the same time frame. Apparently the base is working to build its numbers. Where are you moving from Mojo? We move around Dec. / Jan. from Good Fellow AFB where my husband is training into the Intel career field.

Hi Mojo, We want to buy but we are not sure where yet...it is such a tough decision. I have been looking online. I have looked at Sumter, Columbia, Camden, Florence, Dalzell, and Hopkins...I am still not sure what to do...I think it is going to take my going there to decide what I want to do. As I mentioned on one of the other threads another poster on these threads is moving from Mildenhall AFB...like my husband says whenever I say "small world" he says "no, small air force" I guess he is right.

M0J0, PAFW, there is no such place called "mildenhall AFB". it is RAF (royal air force) mildenhall. it is a british base. i know it sounds nit picky, but take the time to learn the assignment names as you'll notice that overseas air force assignments are on an "air base" not "air force base" as they are stateside (with the exception of hawaii, alaska & guam).

Well ok...thanks thechappells for the lesson. First I have never been with my husband on an overseas assignment and have never been to Mildenhall. Second that is why I am on these threads as we speak is to learn about my next base. Sorry if we offended you with calling it "Mildenhall AFB" from now on I will say "Mildenhall"

lots of choices
If y'all want big city livin', then Columbia's it for you. If you want to live under the flight path of the air base and have airplanes flying overhead, Dalzell's the place. If you want off main route kind of livin' then Camden's the place. Don't know about Florence really.
