Default Local welding suppliers

I need to pick up a welder. For the time being I want to stick with 110V, MIG (but probably with the option for flux core). I've been told that Miller, Lincoln and Hobart are the better brands to stick with.

So I'm looking around online but was wondering if there are any local shops that sell equipment (these brands, plus I'd need gas) that are close enough in price (and offer good customer support) to warrant purchasing in person. I like to save money, but I also like to support local shops when/where I can.

Any suggestions in Sumter or Columbia?

Back home ( WI ) we had "Farm and Fleet" stores, somewhat like TSC locations but they did carry a good selection of tools, hardware, and welding supplies. Is there any regional type chain like that in SC? If so they could be a nice option

National Welders on Shop Road in Columbia is a full service dealer and good folks. I've been dealing with them for over 20 years. Phone number is 799-1507.

The last MIG I had was a Miller portable and it was one of the best I ever had.

Thanks, Cuebald. I take Shop to/from work, so I'll stop by.

Ranger, I'm familiar with Farm & Fleet. I've not seen one around here, but know of a TSC out in Lexington.
