We are new to Columbia. We are planning to have our home built, but have no idea who are considered the top (best quality, best reputation, etc.) custom builders in the area. Any ideas?

Thanks for the response. We are looking for higher end ($600k) - complete custom, including design. Perhaps there are neighborhoods I could drive through with new construction to find builders?

I don't know, but I found this interesting map of negative equity in the Columbia area by Zillow:

Perhaps some of the other folks here know where the custom homes are clustered?

Drive through Wren Creek on Turkey Farm Rd off of the Wilson BLVD exit on I-77. Also around the Corner from Wren Creek is Ashley Oaks and there are several custom builders that build there as well. Wood Creek Farms on Spears Creek Church Rd would be another good place to drive through as well. What side of town would you like to live in?

That is interesting! Fortunately, we bought land west of the river. Thanks for your help.

Default Celtic Works

Very nice guys to work with and very high quality!

Their gallery of homes gives an idea of the types of work they can do. If you haven't decided on a builder, definitely give them an opportunity to discuss your plans.
