Default Best, Cheapest Japanese in Columbia?

I'm going to Columbia this weekend, and am looking for a reasonably priced ($8-$12 per person) Japanese restaurant, hopefully located somewhere easy to find. Looking for somewhere with good sushi. I personally am willing to pay more for quality, but my husband and I will be traveling with my parents and my dad is a little bit of a cheapskate.
Thanks!

I do not care for sushi but my stepson claims to be a connoisseur. He and his friends (all poor college students) swear by Tsunami Japanese restaurant (on Gervias Street downtown) and Osaka Inn in Lexington. Tsunami is opening a second location near Harbinson but I'm not sure if it is open yet.

BTW he claims the best store bought sushi is at Publix.

Default Best, Cheapest Japanese in Columbia?

The cheap Japanese food I found is Tokyo's Grill on Columbiana Drive of Harbison. They don't sell sushi just hibachi grill and rice bowl. Most of the sushi place are pricey. The best sushi for me is Inakaya Resturant on O'neal Ct. I hope this help.

Try Thai Lotus on St. Andrews Road - they usually have options where you can get a lot of sushi for not too much money.

I agree with waccamatt. Thai Lotus is a good inexpensive option. Sakitumi and Tsunami are very good but pricey. Thai Lotus has an all you can eat buffet with sushi for $7.95.
