If you want a downtown scene, it's hard to beat Savannah. How about that monkey wrench, not even the same state! Columbia is a nice laid back scene with friendly people for the most part. It's got a little bit going on downtown, plenty of country, and Lake Murray. It's home for many but isn't for everyone. The one's that love it here probably have a hard time considering other perspectives.
I'm sure it would be no difference if I went to CA board and said the East coast is better and they should drop off into the ocean. (I don't really feel that way, just making an example.
