We're in our mid 50's and are tired of the cold and the north east.Currently we live in Eastern Pa. I love to hunt deer and fish.My wife and I enjoy boating and fishing. We also like what Columbia has to offer. We're making another run down in September to meet a realtor.I'm looking for information regarding deer hunting in these areas. From what I was told, most of the hunting is done on leased properties.I'm use to knocking on doors to find a farm to hunt on. My brothers, father and I have had the good fortune to hunt on the same farm for 10 years now. What info can anyone give me on this.
The only thing I know about hunting besides what I hear my farmer relatives say is that there are lots of hunt clubs around. Some of them hunt in Orangeburg County where my relatives live.
There is game managment property here, that many people hunt on. If you can meet people in the more rural areas then you may be able to work something out as far as hunting on their property. My brother is a member of a hunt club, and there are many of those here for all types of hunting.
