Default Looking to relocate to Irmo

I've been doing research on the area and need a little help. There seems to be fairly new subdivisions there, Ashford, Waterford, Belfair Oaks, Milford Park, St Johns Place, Ridgecreek...

Which would be the most desirable for a family with a 5 & 6 year old and for a 30+ something couple looking to get the most bang for their buck?

Schools are very important and the research I've done leads me to believe we want to be in the Lexington/Richland 5 territory.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Ps. Also looking in Chapin. More rural areas by Lake Murray.

Are Chapin HS and Dutch Fork comparable?

So does anybody have any info on Irmo?

I found a few postive posts about it here and the research I've done says it's a growing area with good schools.

I'm looking to get out of the Orlando, Fl staying in the SE and finding a neighborhood with appreciating home values and good schools.

Lake Murray is beautiful, but it is rural. I personally would like it there, or the Lexington area.

Default Milford Park, Irmo, sc

For those who are interested. I feel this is the best neighboorhood in Columbia. You're just a few short miles from Dutch Fork High School, ranked on the Best Schools list. And you can walk to Ballentine Elementary. It's a great place to raise your kids. LOTS of children in the neighboorhood. And it has Sidewalks and a great pool!
