Columbia's water best in the state
I think it was the Today Show that named Columbia's water the third best tasting in the U.S. a few years ago. It was just named the best in S.C.

Interesting. I saw on the news that you're going to be able to start paying the bill online. That's pretty nice, it's about the only one I still have to mail a check to anymore.

That's interesting. Two of my co-workers (different department) recently graduated from the Univ. of SC within the past five years and said the tap water tasted terrible in Columbia. I had made a comment about how nasty the tap water tastes in Spartanburg and that was their reply almost in unison. This is good to know though. The best tap water I have ever tasted was in the village of Archbold, Ohio, approximately ten years ago.

I can tell you who doesn't have the best tap water in the state, or anywhere else: Charleston. Bleh.

Columbia actually has had a reputation for good-tasting water for quite some time. I wonder what's wrong with the two Greenville USC grads' taste buds, unless it's just that nothing in Columbia measures up to Greenville's version of it in their minds.

I think they were saying you can get your bill emailed to you if you so choose. On line payments through the city's web site have been available for a while and you could have used your bank's bill payment service anytime.
IIRC they charge a fee if you use their online bill pay service (like most other government agencies). No companies that I do business with charge for that service, in fact since it usually reduces paperwork, handling, and the chance for fraud they encourage it. I understand that since they use a 3rd party processing company they get charged the fee and simply pass it on to the customer. It seems like they could find a way to process the payments themselves.

You really need to get off your high horse for a minute. I never said anything about the SC grads being from Greenville. They recently moved to the Upstate from Columbia and seem to love living here, but don't have an apparent reason to favor one place as you suggested. I have no reason to doubt their opinion about the flavor of the water, nor do I have reason to doubt the opinion of the "taste testers" in the article. It is a subjective comparison that many may find agreeable. Since you seem to be interested, Greenville does have decent tasting tap water (I usually filter all water from a faucet regardless of the city), although there is no tap water in the state that can compare to pure natural mountain spring or cavern water, in my opinion.

Two Upstate USC grads, then. Plug in the changed place names.

Best tasting water? Interesting. I find it quite disgusting. To each his own.

How can water taste when it has no flavor to begin with? What a stupid ranking. Next, they'll be ranking which city has the best looking sewer lines.
