100% AGREE! I celebrate life daily as a member of the human race, not as a labeled person.

I was being sarcastic. Maybe you were, too. I can't tell. I mean, I know you were being sarcastic, but I can't tell from your post whether you realized I was.

Yes, I was definitely being sarcastic, which is why I put the wink at the end of my post. I know it's easy for statements to be misconstrued online.

I saw this on WACH's website and Free Times today:

Quote:
Benjamin to Pull Back from Press

Mayor Steve Benjamin announced a new relationship with the media today: In the future he will be less open and available to the press.
Benjamin told Free Times he doesnít think the local press has lived up to its duty to be fair and accurate.
ďIf I donít think the press is being fair in its coverage, I donít have to make myself available,Ē he said. (more at link)
I wonder why the other news outlets make no mention of this on their sites (at least I didn't see any)? Maybe they're worried that if they say anything negative about Benjamin he will further limit their access to him?

Many will interpret his comment ďIf I donít think the press is being fair in its coverage, I donít have to make myself availableĒ to mean "If the press isn't reprting positive news on me that I want to hear, I don't have to make myself available".
