Default Apartments

Looking for a nice apartment with a younger community. Not necessarily all college kids though.

Lots of good ones in the area. What is your rent budget and what area do you prefer (downtown, Northeast, Lexington, etc.)

Somewhere either downtown or northeast. Will have to commute either way. I would say about a maximum would be 800, which I think I should easily be able to find something below.

Vista Commons is a very popular apartment complex right downtown where younger professionals live. I'm thinking it might be over $800 though (whichis relatively high for Columbia metro) and there's sometimes a waiting list anyway. Broad River Trace is a nice complex close to downtown kind of secluded off of Broad River Rd.--but not in the ghetto part. I've known lots of younger people who have lived there as well. The Keswick in NE Columbia is a recommended complex right off of I-20 at Clemson Rd. It'd a very popular complex too. I know you didn't say Lexington but there are some nice newer apartment complexes off of 378 or US-1 that are more affordable than downtown. The commute would probably be the same as from NE Cola.

You should start making inquires before you come to the area. My son saw an apartment complex that he liked only to find out that he would have to wait until August for a one bedroom apartment. I suggest you go on the internet find a location and a rent that fits your budget and definitely give the place a call to see if they have any units available.
