Well . . .they "took our area," that much is true. West Point took the hit for the entire area though. West Point well . . . not much benefit really, since the needed improvements to our downtown have little to actually do with Kia, and Karaoke night at the Irish Pub is about the only thing Koreans add to the local economy. Kia reps conned our local politicians pretty good.

haha sounds racist no? wonder how the 2k plus non-asian folks working there & not sitting on their ass feel. some of your folks in west point glad they have a job no? Would you being saying the same if it was a domestic car company there? Umm koreans are around like black, latino, white are. they all shop, eat, live, pay taxes here like anyone else. oops I forgot how do you feel Some of your Domestic trucks & cars are Made by Mexicans & Canadians; not Americans. You feel that pride? just saying babe.

Kia to build Optima in Georgia, add jobs

Kia will soon add another model to its Georgia-built list and bring the West Georgia region another 1,000 new jobs. Production on the 2012 Optima will begin in the third quarter.

The total number of employees at KMMG is expected to reach nearly 3,000 later this year.
