I'll be moving from San Antonio, Texas to a town near Columbus (don't know the name) in about a month and was hoping to find out more about this city. Now I've been here twice to visit my Dad who works there and experienced pretty much no problems. We stayed for about two to three weeks the first time and for 4 or 5 days the second time.

So basically I was just wondering how San Antonio compares with Columbus. Crime-wise, education, environment, etc.

Plus I'm 15 turning 16 in September. Any help will be appreciated.

Users get younger and younger. Awesome to have you! Things you would like to experience would probably be the skate park in front of the Civic Center, the pool off double churches rd is a great spot, and the riverwalk downtown is a good place to bike. Infantry museum is a must see with the IMAX there. Education wise your best bet for schools is North Columbus or Brookstone High School near Bradley Park Drive. Columbus is has about the same climate. We are hot and very hot right now. Crime wise Columbus is improving. You should not worry with that, Columbus just hired 100 new officers. Don't get into trouble bud and you wont have to worry about crime wise anything.

What do you have to say about Columbus High School? My parents said it's a really good school. I've tested into their magnet school so I'd like to know what I'm up against.

Thanks by the way.

Columbus High is a great high school. Always voted as one of the top public high schools in the state. Great sports program there too. Most of these kids go off to great schools around the country. Definitely the level of any private school IMO. Brookstone is $10,000+ per year. Best bet is CHS.

I did substitute teaching a few years ago and I'd say that Columbus was a pleasure to work at. Very studious. So despite being a Hardaway grad (your new cross town rival haha) will def recommend Columbus high school. Good luck in Georgia.

Thanks, everyone. I just have one more question, although it's not really related to Columbus.

Have any of you been to DragonCon in Atlanta? I'd love to know more about it. If I can convince my mom to let me go, it'll be my first gaming convention.

Just know that it is a huge draw. Some 100,000+ people attend I believe. Definitely worth checking out probably.

Ah, the people to talk to for information on things like DragonCon, gaming, science fiction, comics, et cetera would be Columbus Book Exchange, 6440 West Hamilton Park Drive, about a block from Veteran's Parkway, ask for Pat.
