I saw in the paper Fort Benning buying 82,000 in either Talbot, Harris, Stewart, or Russell county, if they choose Talbot or Stewart does that mean they will possibly counted in the Columbus MSA even though I think they should anyway... where do you think they should expand and if you have updates let me know! :/

I would think, or hope that Fort Benning would expand into Stewart or Talbot counties, as Harris and Russell are the prime spots for Coulmbus & Phenix City to grow into.

Obviously we don't need more stunting of the city as happened to the Southside with Benning closing off any chance of expansion in that area decades ago.

Sounds like Stewart is going to get the majority of the expansion. Makes sense to me.

It was mentioned in the Ledger-Enquirer today that once BRAC is complete there will 144,000 people on base during the day. That is almost the size of Macon!

Fort Benning officials will host a town hall meeting in Lumpkin Tuesday on the Army’s plan to expand training land.

The public meeting comes 10 weeks after a draft environmental impact study identified Stewart County as the preferred alternative to expand post training land by 82,800 acres.

This will be huge for Fort Benning!

Do you think Stewart county will then be counted in the Columbus MSA?

Not sure really. The population is very small to begin with. Just glad to see this expansion for Fort Benning.

Also, there are some other counties I feel should also be included in the Columbus MSA or CSA including Taylor, Talbot, Lee, Troup

Talbot is already in the MSA. The others are more CSA. Trust me, Columbus has a much stronger pull on LaGrange than Atlanta does.
