My wife is happier than I am, as I admit that living in the awesomely beautiful mountains of S.E. Tennessee really spoiled me rotten. We (well, I) are currently suffering from an "activity gap" due to the lack of that endless connection to the outdoors and mother nature.

We (I) are looking for some activities similar to what we are used to, like hiking, camping, water recreation (jet skiing and fishing), and just plain enjoying the outdoors. I'm hoping someone who knows the town very well will offer up some advice for my family that will help us bridge the activity gap we currently are in, especially now that summer is on its way out and fall is knocking on the door.

Feel free to give your heart-felt advice on how we can really enjoy our new city.

Thanks bunches....
Welcome to Columbus, and hope you'll join us for some of the musical events around town... tonight (Thuesday) is open mic talent show at SoHo, which also happens on Thursdays on Broadway at Fountain City Coffee.

I must apologize for my comments about Columbus's natural scene - there's some nice places here, especially around the river. It's all in how you look at it, particularly from one’s own past experiences.

The river takes you back into the civil war era.It gives you a 1860's feel.
