The 2nd annual RiverCity Festival of Trees is underway in Columbus. All week, folks have stopped by to see the dazzling Christmas trees. The event benefits the Keep Columbus Beautiful Commission. If you'd like to see what the professionally decorated trees look like, head to the RiverCenter through Saturday. The hours to see the trees are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. On Thursday night, there will be a ballroom dance demonstration with cocktails. Saturday is Family Day and a raffle drawing will be held. If fresh greenery is your preferred way to decorate, check out the offerings at The Wynn House Holiday Greenery Market. It's going on Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The Polar Express 3D is returning to the IMAX Theatre at the National Infantry Museum for three weekends in December.

Kids (and parents, too!) are encouraged to wear their pajamas for the magical journey to the North Pole to find the true spirit of Christmas.

The 2004 film is based on the children's book of the same title by Chris Van Allsburg. It was the first motion picture not specially made for IMAX to be presented in 3D.

Screenings of The Polar Express 3D at the National Infantry Museum have been made even more popular by the lobby appearances of the train's Conductor. Longtime museum volunteer and docent Owen Ditchfield plays the part to perfection, allowing youngsters to hold his magic lantern while he punches their initials in their Golden Tickets.

This year's schedule for The Polar Express 3D is as follows:

Friday 11/30, 12/7

7:15 p.m.

Saturday 12/1, 12/8

3 p.m.
5 p.m.
7:15 p.m.

Sunday 12/2, 12/9

3 p.m.
5 p.m.

Prices are $10 for adults, $9 for seniors/students/military and $8 for children 4-12. Children under 4 receive free admission.

I'll be at the Infantry Museum on Friday, December 7th at 7:00, but not for the Polar Express, but for my company's Christmas party!
