I spent 3 1/2 years in Columbus and would recommend staying at exit 10. Going below that is dicey in a lot of areas and definitely don't go below exit 8. When you get there you will see what I am talking about.

Crime is pretty high for Columbus and there is a very simple reason, which I cannot state on here for fear of being accused of trolling for telling the truth.

As far as racial discrimination, my wife and I are both white and experienced quite a bit of discrimination down there. It was a big culture shock for us. I am glad to be out of there and will never be going back because of the experience I had.

ALL the people? I've never called anyone a troll, nor participated in the back and forth - Columbus is great, no it's not, yes it is, no it's not.

Don't paint everyone with the same wide brush.

I'm new to the area, and I haven't experienced discrimination. Yes, I do stay off Exit 10, but I frequent Downtown/Uptown and Midtown areas quite a bit. Our experience is that the locals have been very inviting. I'm sorry your experience was not the same.

There is a new complex out in Midland that is convenient to major highways and retail areas. Can't remember the name. You will absolutely love Columbus. I've lived and been to many cities around the USA and abroad. Columbus is great for a family.

Thank you all for your responses. Crazzer, I am sorry that you had such a bad experience in Columbus and certainly pray that my family and I don't suffer the same fate; I will keep your advice in mind. Thank you Columbus1984, Columbuskidd92, and rabernet I will look into the apartments and the management company.
