Update on Old Town from Woodruff:

Welcome to Old Town,

Where families and friends come together to enjoy a meal, share stories and create memories.
We are excited to share with you, what is happening here.

We are currently under construction, building 140 Garden Style apartments; The Flats @ Old Town, which will be ready for residents to begin moving into June, 2014.
We will begin pre-leasing The Flats April 1, 2014. There will be 1, 2 and 3 bedroom styles available to lease. The Flats will have their own amazing pool and innovative clubhouse over looking a small private lake nestled in a grove of beautiful hardwoods.

The Town Center is also under construction.
There is retail and office space available to lease along the Town Center. If you have an interest in opening a cafe', nail salon, pharmacy, retail boutique or office, please give us a call.

Plan your wedding in the Old Town Chapel mixing Southern tradition with modern style. This charming chapel will seat 96, creating an intimate setting for your special moment that you will treasure forever.

Plan to visit our model homes while you are visiting Old Town. A neighborhood where, you will find your neighbors sitting on their front porches. There are wide sidewalks to stroll with your family. Take a delightful walk into the center of town to eat at your favorite cafe and enjoy a cup of coffee and pastry. We will begin construction on 5 model homes early 2014. There are several house plans from which to choose. Sounds like from the update that it will just be local cafe's, boutiques, etc. - probably won't be any national names.

That will be a big blow if it's just local shops.

For that phase yes. According to the site plan there is some huge retail lined up along Veterans.
