Check out Malitude too, they have a great selection of craft beer and a rotating growler wall. Maltitude Craft Beer and Wine

Here's my latest update: about 2 weeks from moving and looking for places to live. Put in my application at Empire Uptown, but they seem to be in some type of transition with building ownership.

I also met a lady who rents houses in the Super cute Bibb Village area. She's like the unofficial spokeswoman and she can taaaaaaaaaaalk like nobody's business. The house I looked at was lovely in the area, but super overpriced. $700 rent, $900 deposit, $375 security deposit. The lofts weren't even that expensive.

At any rate, anyone knows what going on at Empire Uptown? Why the transition? My research showed that they were owned by Thayer Properties or Management, but they young lady I spoke with is not with them anymore.

I didn't realize that weren't owned by the same company, last I checked they were still managed by JP Thayer. Did you try calling them? I have some friends that live in this complex and they enjoy it. Just don't move to 11th Street Lofts, they're RIGHT above a bar and the noise never ends! Also, you don't want Johnson Mill Loft's because they're income based and you don't really know who might be your neighbor month - to - month.

Another friend of mine just moved into Eagle & Phenix - have you checked with them? They had a pretty long waiting list, but he was able to move through it pretty fast.

I actually got in at Empire Uptown! My man and I are very excited. I will get more info when I come to town tomorrow to pay my deposit, but the listing for Empire Uptown has been removed from the Thayer website and the application said a different company.

I will post more details once I get them tomorrow (journalist is Latin for being nosey, kidding not kidding) but I know for sure it's not Thayer. My news station has not done any stories on the transition yet. But I'm going to do some digging. The leasing agent I met had only been on the job for a few days when we checked out the lofts there last week.

A friend of my boyfriend who is from Columbus called Johnston Mill the "Murder Mill" lofts and the reviews on Google weren't great, so that was a turn off. Eagle & Phenix looked AMAZING, but out of a sister's price range. 11th Street didn't have any vacancies that I saw. A new coworker let me know about Empire on my interview and she gave me the contact info.

Congrats on the move. You will be within walking distance of everything downtown. Welcome to Columbus.
