No, AU has been around for more than a 100 years. And what in the world does Newnan have to do with the growth of Lee County?
Give me stats, stats, stats and more stats.

The previous posts were in regard to the massive amount of growth in surrounding areas.
You are falling behind again and need to keep up with previous postings.

What? Newnan is 70 miles from Columbus and can not be listed as surrounding area with Columbus. As a matter of fact, it's in Atlanta's MSA, not Columbus'.
Auburn on the other hand is in the same CSA as Columbus. So, what in the world are you talking about? Next page.

I would assume the same would probably go for Auburn/Opelika(not even in the same state!) and definitely Lagrange/West Point/Lanett areas too.
They get the Kia plant and you folks act like you made it happen.
How low can you get.

I would think as an auburn grad you would realize that decades could obviously amount to 100 years or more(decade = 10 years in case you did not know) and with the countless stats/posts you still need more?
I think you and your buddy need to pony up....

I agree.
Columbus boasted of KIA and from what I have been told by local DOL.. VERY FEW locals even got hired or called in for an interview.
The whole thing about the city having a hand in bringing KIA to Georgia is total BS very similar to the NCR situation and then having to borrow money do the deal!
The city is flat broke and they still have not lifted a finger in preparations for BRAC as other posters have mentioned.

Your post pretty much sums up what others had said from the beginning.
Columbus was never on the radar from the start and obviously the facts are now in.

1. Columbus Metro Area contains five counties(Muscogee,Harris, Chatahoochee, Marion, and Russell,ALABAMA!) Macon's metro has two counties(bibb and monroe, GEORGIA) Our MSA is in TWO states and we have a larger area too. Face the facts, Columbus is the second largest city in georgia and will be the first someday!

Did you just come out of an asylum or something?? Holy crap, I have never seen so much delusion in my life.
1) Face the facts?? You have failed to face the facts here. Last time I checked, Augusta was the second largest city.
2) Atlanta will ALWAYS remain the most populous and dominate city in Georgia.

FWI Columbus is based on STATISTICS or not. Augusta is a dump in boondocky stupid Richmond county. Augusta sucks!
