Hi,
I'm currently a part time college student at Columbus State University, my fiancee is full time. I'm working part time and we're both in the National Guard. We're both from Georgia and currently live in Columbus, but have decided to move to Phenix City to be closer to downtown as we spend most of our time their for school (we're music majors). I would like to know if we would have to change all our residency, tag, license, registration, etc. to Alabama. We only plan on living there for maybe a year to a year and a half.

Thanks

You will eventually. I would stick with Columbus.

Board of regents now allows in state tuition for residents of Alabama Florida and some others at certain schools. Also Lee and Russell Cos in AL get instate at CSU I believe. Just call the school. You will have to change tags eventually. If less than a year...I would just "move in" with a friend on paper who lives in GA. More than a year...probably better to keep it legal and change.
