Drove through there 2 weeks ago and it looked like 3 were under contract.

3 day, 100+ to go. Like I've said before, they'll have to change their model - Columbus will not support $400-600k lots that are right up next to each other like this. I would much rather purchase land in Harris County or River Rd area and build a house for less than this.

I can see Columbus supporting a $290-350 neighborhood such as this. Same look, cheaper finishing touches. It's not only expensive to purchase a home in Old Town, neighborhood fees are expensive too.

Why make a comment like that without some kind of facts to back it up?

Columbus just plain needs more professional jobs and way more entertainment/nightlife options period. This is exactly why you guys are hemorrhaging your best and brightest young people to Atlanta.

I agree. I have always wondered why we can't get some more well paying jobs in this town. What is going to happen if Ft. Benning ever goes away?

Columbus has the 4th highest per capita income in the state. We have more white collar corporate jobs in the state outside of metro Atlanta.

Then why is your median household income so far below Metro Atlanta levels? Columbus's median household income fluctuates between the mid 30s and low 40s. Metro Atlanta's median household income is in the mid 50s.

You Columbus boosters are so delusional. Columbus is okay if you're some conservative evangelical Christian who doesn't leave the house much but otherwise it has the QOL of places like MS or AL.

Columbus is just a dull, boring place.

Simple, Atlanta is major U.S. city with tons of corporations willing to pay for top talent. People in bigger cities make more and always will.
