nice 5 story hotel for downtown, just wish columbus could have a descent skyline with taller buildings, but im glad it's fresh construction and not them fixing up an old smelly building.

Anyone know what’s going on with the Hampton Inn. After the demo it seems like it has stalled.

I'm losing interest in whether the hotel gets built---or not.

They're there working daily, you can see the materials out back near Eagle & Phenix. They're working on support for the building next to it. They were attached before Aaron's building was torn down, and now need bracing to ensure it doesn't give-in to the now large hole in the ground.

It's starting to look better, I'm sure this will continuously evolve after their facade board meeting.

Like this design. The less brick the better.

It's funny you say that. I know you're anti-brick and this design has more brick in it than the last look we had at it. I'm all for this one and not the one shown on the previous page. The entire street level is brick and should blend in nicely with the historic district.

Plus, CSU colors, the college should make this their partnered hotel.

I agree. It looks like your typical suburban Hampton Inn IMO although 100 times better than what’s been sitting there for years. I wish it would have been taller also but have to come to terms with this not being a “centerpiece” downtown hotel we initially hoped for. I was in Locust Grove today at the Tanger; it’s not much different than the new Hampton sitting next to the outlet. Maybe the AC project will pull through with a more elaborate design in terms of character and height. Overall, the development is welcomed and I’m glad to finally see movement on a centralized downtown hotel!....I sure hope they didn’t destroy the small skyline we have by demolishing the Goverment Center.
