Not happening. I'm already leaning towards them building a 5-9 stories admin tower. The judicial building will be built next to the jail.

Has the City given any consideration to selling the current building to a private company at a fair, as is, price, rather than incurring the expense of tearing it down? If given a decent price, a purchaser could renovate the building for other uses, such as office space, hotel space, apartments, shops, or a combination of all of these!! This would be a win-win for both parties, and the taxpayers of Columbus! Sure worth some serious consideration!!

Have you read some of the stories covering the extensive list of repairs required?

If, and that's a huge if, the city sold the property, the building would be demolished.

There's no market for a building of that size and costs.

Yet,the building is being renovated. Might as well at least keep the tower.

Yeah, by the city. Its public use value is there. There is no private market demand for it.

Exactly! Not only the public value, but the historic value of that location. People have been gathering there for decades for public meetings and events.

According to the city manager, residents that attended the first meeting were in favor of relocating the government center to a different location and selling the land.
