Phenix City continues to flex its development muscle and the ability to attract and grow business. The once sleepy bedroom community of Columbus is rapidly growing and while new commercial business coming to the city has been the highlight of city news, the industrial side of the city also showed strong growth in 2018
Four industrial companies in Phenix City announced expansions in 2018 that total more than $40,000,000 in investments. In addition to the investment being made by the companies nearly 80 jobs are on their way to the city as part of the expansion of those companies.

VectorPly Corporation is located on South Railroad Street in Phenix City. The company which finds its origins dating back to 1992 recently completed a 53,000-square-foot expansion of its facilities in 2017. The company is again growing in 2019.

Construction crews are now working to again expand the VectorPly Corporation facility on South Railroad Street. In 2018, the company announced it will be investing $15,200,000 into an expansion and upgrades at its Phenix City plant over time. That investment and expansion is expected to create up to four dozen new jobs in Phenix City once completed.

VectorPly Corporation is a company that manufactures a variety of fabrics used in recreational vehicles such as watercraft. The company presently employs more than 150 people at its Phenix City operation.

VectorPly is not the only Phenix City company to announce expansion plans recently. John Mansville located near the Phenix City Brickyard has announced an investment of $24,000,000 into its local operations. Sports clothing retailer The Game has announced a $400,000 investment at its Phenix City operation resulting in 27 new jobs for Phenix City. Logan Machineworks is also in expansion mode with a $575,000 investment that will bring 4 additional jobs to Phenix City.

All together all the industrial expansions in Phenix City total $40,175,000 being invested into the city and 79 new jobs coming to Phenix City to accompany the growth. Phenix City officials highlighted the industrial investments and expansions in the city during the State of The City Address last month.
