Columbus taking on Atlanta in court?
With what? Another loan?
I think you pretty much describe yourself in your above post.....You pick up a few beer cans out of the river and your neighbors throw another six pack and couple of tires within a week.
Now that is what I call progress.
That is common occurrence in the city of Columbus and I think your fight is with your fellow local hucklebucks not me.
Best of luck.

Have no fight with you --- I believe it was Oscar Wilde who said: "It is unfair to engage in a war of wits with an unarmed opponent."
Thanks for the compliment. Would like to think that have described myself. Yes -- Its sad when folks throw beer cans and tires in the river -- almost as sad as when sad sacks whine and belittle efforts of others to make things better for themselves and neighbors. If you cannot help change for the better, dont complain about those who are trying.
BTW, Atlanta is more likely to be seeking a loan than Columbus. It is on
on shaky financial ground -- and last time I heard was unable to raise the money for a new symphony hall. The truth is all cities are in financial straits. Luckily Atlanta -- as well as Columbus, Macon Augusta, etc -- all have a group of citizens who are committed to improving the present lot and moving forward. Unfortunately, each also has a small group of perpetual pessimists who feel the need to mock those efforts -- because they lack the vision and guts and self-confidence to do the heavy lifting

You sound like a 2nd rate attorney practicing cross examination on the public.
Unarmed opponent?...lol
Columbus has too much baggage to ever become anything worth mentioning and unfortunately you just do not want to admit it.
When you start comparing Atlanta to Columbus I know what I am really dealing with....
Good luck.

Yes -- I have no trouble admitting that Whiners/Backbiters are certainly the baggage that Columbus has to carry. But then most cities have a group of sad, pathetic little men who cannot accomplish anything on their own and must belittle the efforts of others to compensate. Again -- thanx for the compliment -- as you seem to be the expert on all things 2d-rate, you should be congratulated on recognizing your area of competency. Actually no need to cross-examine. One rule we 2d rate attorneys follow is never cross-examine when the witness is making a fool of himself all on his own.

You got a lot more city residents to convince than me.
Good luck..

Thanx for the good wishes -- but
Not interested in convincing you -- just the open and fair minded folks who hope to improve their lot rather than wallow in dispair and negativism. As for others, we will simply wait until they die out or move on.

Sadly I think you will be one of the "others" as Columbus has continued on a downward spiral since the late 80's

I'm not exactly sure WHY every single thread about Columbus turns into a peeing match with attitudes, but I can already see the jabs and insults starting in this one, and it's not even on page two yet, folks.
Please note this section of the terms of service which all members have agreed to when signing up for the board:
"Be civil, no personal attacks, flaming, or insults. We may attack ideas (politely) but we do not attack the speaker of the idea. Be careful with your words, there is a point where being direct crosses a line into blunt, in-your-face hostility. Please, report bad posts instead of engaging in flame wars on the boards. Insulting another member or a moderator will not be tolerated anywhere on this website. This includes Direct Messages and Reputation Comments."
Keep it civil. Period.

MrGreg,
Thanks for slowing these folks down a little bit.
It would be nice to get some concrete answers rather than insults etc.

Nope, nothing but up. I am convinced you don't even live in Columbus.
If so, move away, it might lessen your stress level.
